Jesus made a big deal of Discipleship! He put very strong language to the description of one who would follow Him. “If you don’t hate father, mother, brother, sister, and your own life also you cannot be my disciple!”
Discipleship will be a big deal when we make it a big deal. We don’t like change but to follow Jesus the way He say’s we must change. Our desire should be to progress into Ministry just as His disciples did. We must change from being immature to mature followers of Jesus.
Maturity is pursued and experienced through the Word of God and obedience to the Spirit of God. Immaturity is the result of no discipline or determination on our part and by being outright disobedient. So a couple of questions:
1. What kind of effort are you making to fulfill your calling to follow Jesus?
2. Will you follow the Bibles plan? Jude 20-21
Will we use what we learn to project ourselves into the Kingdom of God and begin to make Disciples?
